October 22, 2015 - Gold Strike Canyon

This a view of the river from sauna cave. The water is low enough in the morning to walk over to the cave without swimming.

I met some really nice people kayaking. This is Amber and Lance, the leaders from Prescott, AZ.

They had set up camp near the bottom of Gold Strike Canyon. Nothing like camping in a beautiful area only to wake up to an endless warm shower.

It was a really nice day for a hike to Arizona Hot Springs. We met Ian, a tour guide, Deanna, Mike, Nicole and Chris. We also met a couple from Pennsylvania and Leigh from Atlanta. Nice people out today enjoying the beautiful weather and unique hot springs. Hiking with my son Ryan from Atlanta. There was also a large group there from San Diego.

Today was a beautiful day to kayak the lake side of Hoover Dam.

September 9, 2015 - Update on Hot Springs Trails

Due to lingering heat, Arizona Hot Springs and Gold Strike Hot Springs trails will be closed until October 1, 2015.

September 3, 2015 - Paddling Lake Mead

It was a beautiful day at the lake. There were challenging 32 mile per hour winds, but otherwise a beautiful day.

As summertime comes to an end, I am still enjoying kayaking and exploring different coves in the Lake Mead area. Still lots of warm sunshine.
